My favourite music genre

Hi everyone, today I'll write about which music genre is my favourite. It's really difficult   to me to establish which music genre is my favourite since I listen to a lot of different artists, actually on my Spotify you can find from pop to folk, rock and roll and also a little of hip-hop, my favourite artist is called Passenger, he's a solo artist who plays indie folk, so I think my favourite genre is that one.

Indie folk is a music genre that started around the '90s and it came from indie rock musicians who started to get influenced by folk, and started to include that influences on their songs, some people call it modern folk too, it usually refers to acoustic and story-oriented music.

My favourite artist is called Passenger he's a solo artist who plays indie folk, and I love the way he can turn any story into a song (and a really good song) mixing a lot of fingerpicking guitar (he has a really cool guitar), piano, banjo and sometimes mandolin. Sometimes he performs on stage only with a guitar and his unique voice and sometimes he plays with a band that makes him sound even more amazing on stage. I like other artists who also can be referred to this genre like Jack Johnson, Regina Spektor and James Bay.

(Passenger)

The thing that I love the most about this genre is that is soothing but it can be powerful at the same time and it can mix cheerful rhythms with strong lyrics, but it also turn a light song into a great one just by mixing it with a lot of different rhythms and instruments. As I said before I think the thing that is most representative about this genre is that it puts together a lot of different instruments, sometimes in only one song, the instruments that are most used by the artists who play this genre are acoustic guitar, piano, mandolin, banjo and sometimes drums and ukulele.

A really cool song

The best song you'll ever hear

Graduate studies

I think nowadays in the society we’re living in you can’t just have a bachelor’s degree to get into the working life, you have to study something else, maybe it’s because companies and institutions needs more qualified people to do the jobs in order to keep up with the constant change of the environment and also the change in society or maybe just because the less specific jobs are all taken by older people who got their jobs a long time ago without the need to have a postgraduate degree.

In my case, even though I don’t want to continue my studies I know that sooner or later I’ll have to, and when the day comes and when I have the money and time to I would like to study something related with urban management or with entrepreneurship, I would really like to study a masters degree in science called “Urban Management and Development” run by Erasmus University Rotterdam, in Netherlands, even though is really expensive I think learning something like that in a country that is one of the best places to live gives you the opportunity to bring it here and maybe make it possible here as well, I would like to study outside of the country because I think here in Chile people and employers give more importance to people with degrees from outside of the country, but if I have the chance I also would like to study something here related to entrepreneurship, here in Chile Universidad Mayor offers a lot of options related to this matter, but the one I would like to study is a master’s degree called "Innovation management and entrepreneurship", I would like them to be full time since I think it’s the best way to get really into the thing you are studying and be the best at it.

My future job

Actually I have never thought about what I wanted to work in before, in fact I don't know what I want to do, but maybe by writing this post I will figure it out :)

I think I want to work in something completely different to what I'm studying, at least for the first ten years, I think that being between four walls and being so young is a waste of one's life, so I have always wanted to go a couple of years to live and work on an island, I have an special attraction to Hawai'i so maybe (if Trump lets me) I will go to live and work there for a while, I think that it is the best way to grow as a person and acquire experience. I believe in learning from the people rather than from books (even though they are really important, there are some things that aren't written down in books) I would like to work in any thing that gives me the minimum to live a good life, I would like to be outdoors but maybe that's too illusory since almost all the jobs are indoors, I would really like to travel not only on Hawai'i but also here in Chile or other countries, if I go to live there I would love to visit all the islands because there are a lot and some of them have different customs between one and other, as I said before the salary is not a big deal if I would be able to afford a living there or wherever I would live, after a few years I would like to go back and work in Public Administration maybe in something like Corfo, which is a public service that helps with initial incomes -through social benefits- to micro-entrepreneurs and I'm really into that. I don't know if I'm going to study something after I finish this career, or I don't really know what to study, maybe something related to foreign affairs.

My favourite cartoon

The Simpsons.

Hi everyone, today I will talk about my favourite cartoon, since I was a little girl I really liked watching cartoons, but the one that I still like and can watch a lot without getting bored until today is The Simpsons, the cartoon tells the story about a family, which consists of Homer, the father, Marge, the mother, and the kids Bart, Lisa and Maggie, in a town called Springfield, Homer is the typical stereotype of an American family guy, he drinks a lot, he eats a lot and watch a lot of TV, he is also a little dumb(maybe more than a little), and that's practically what the plot is about, the dumbness of the actions and decisions he take, and sometimes is about the other family members, Lisa, for example. is a little 8 years old genius who is surrounded by people doing stupid things that sometimes affects her too, Bart is a 10 years old rebel kid, who likes to do mean stuff to people and to things too, specially the principal at his school, Marge, the mother is another stereotype of the woman who stays at home and take care of the house and her kids, Maggie is the little baby who has never said a word. I actually can't remember when was the first time that I saw it, but it must have been when I was around 8 years old, the cartoon shows in a satirical way the life of the working-class people, was created by Matt Groening in 1989, and until today, they are still making more episodes, the animated sitcom now has around 600 episodes, is my favourite because it's funny for kids and in a different way for adults, for example, now I see old episodes and I found myself able to catch jokes that are only understandable for adults, but that doesn't minus the fact that little kids still have a good laugh while they are watching it.

Write about your favourite movie

Her. (2013)

“Her” is a movie released in 2013, the movie is about a guy called Theodore who works as a letter writer in a company, he is in the last stage of a divorce and lives in a world where technology is bigger than personal relationships, the plot starts with Theodore buying the latest operating system, the “OS1”, the world’s first artificially intelligent operating system, Theodore is a really lonely person in this futuristic world and because of that he starts to develop an strange relationship with the OS1, Samantha, how Theodore calls it, is set to meet every need he has, so as the time pass by they start to get closer and closer, and eventually he fell in love with “Her”, Samantha, the OS1, has a really powerful intelligence and has the capability to help him in every way, but not with the fact that he is in love with a piece of technology, the genre of the movie combines drama, romance and Sci-fi, the cast is pretty small , actually it only has one main character and a voice (of the device), the main actor is called Joaquin Phoenix and the person who does the voice of the OS1 is Scarlett Johansson. I watched the movie for the first time about two years ago, I downloaded it and watched on my TV with my sister because she told me it was one of the best movies she has ever watched, and now I can say that by my own experience. Watch it you won’t regret it.

The best concert ever!

The best concert I've ever went to was in 2015, on the 23rd of April it was in Santiago at the athletic track of the National Stadium, I saw Ed Sheeran live and it was unbelievable! And I definitely would go again, there was also an invited artist but I can't remember his name.

Ed Sheeran was born on the 17th of February, 1991 in Yorkshire city, he is a British singer and songwriter, at an early age he found out that music was what he wanted to do with his life so he dropped school at the age of 16 and started to pursue his music career, his famousness began when he started to be the supporting artist on one of the Taylor Swift tours and since there his musical career have been getting bigger and bigger. He actually has two albums and has done two worldwide tours as a headline artist.
The atmosphere during the show was amazing all the fans were singing along Ed songs and having a good time, for me it was one of the best experiences you could ever get to live, in the first place the gig was placed on a smaller venue but because of the popularity of him they have to move the concert to a bigger spot, that actually went really well for me because they moved me and my sister closer to the stage and I couldn't be happier about it , the concert was almost two hours long and I think all of the people who went got out without a voice, including me, I remember I was so tired after it finished but it was totally worth it, I also enjoyed it cause I was waiting so desperately for it to happen that when the day the tickets started to be for sale I was like two hours before it started on my laptop waiting for them to be dropped, it was a chaos but I managed to get the tickets and still had to wait like six months until the big day came.

Here are some really bad quality photos I took that day

A country I would like to visit

The Netherlands.

Since I was a little girl, I've have always dreamt about going to the Netherlands, maybe because of it's culture, the way people live, ride bikes instead of using cars or maybe the fact that some jails and churches had to close because dutch people doesn't need them, they are actually turning them into public libraries, I know a few things about this country besides the one that I already mention, they speak Dutch and also French, almost half of the population is atheist or agnostic and the most followed sport is football.

If one day I get to go there I would like to visit the capital city, Amsterdam, because it has an awesome architecture, a lot of historical places to visit and it's the most important city of that country, so if I go there I think I would be able to know a lot about the culture of Dutch people, I would like to talk to the local people there and learn from them and not only from the internet, I would like to go to Ana Frank house and take a canal tour down the Singel canal.
I would only like to travel for a holiday, because it's an expensive country and the people there speak Dutch and even though I have tried it's a really difficult language to learn.

                                          The Singel canal

A nice part of the city

                                            And another one
